Jean-Pierre was fantastic. We had a lovely day. He was very attentive and showed us all of the coves and caves. He was very welcoming with lots of attention to detail. We could not have had a better experience.

The area is nothing short of beautiful. We were on the island of Porquerolles leaving from the port of Toulon. Be careful with the wind speed, otherwise just a superb day with a family with two young children. 6 and 3 years old

Toulon is a city in France, with both a significant harbour as well as a significant naval base and is famous for its wartime activities. While the coast is a great place to visit due to the sandy beaches and beautiful hidden coves, the city is also a great place to tour due to being home to submarines and warships and having a rich history to explore.

However, these prices are not guaranteed and can fluctuate based on several factors including the type of boat and time of year.

Boat availability in Toulon

The peak season in Toulon is during the summer months of July and August, however, Toulon is a very popular city in France, and so tourism is high from April to October, which means you should book far in advance both accommodation and transport as availability goes quickly. Discover the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean by passing through the city of Toulon. Lovers of nautical activities, take a boat and come to admire the manoeuvres of the ferries and the military buildings at the exit of the port. Off the coast of Toulon, take advantage of an escapade to make a detour to the islands of Hyères, Port-Cros, one of the most captivating islands of the region, Porquerolles, the harbour of Hyères or the creeks of Cassis.

Whether you want to leave for a few hours or a few days, hire a sailboat or a motorboat and choose Toulon as your departure city. For the more adventurous, why not sail to the coast of Corsica or Sardinia? If you don't have the time to sail there, you can always hire a catamaran in Toulon.

One of the main attractions you can’t miss is the Telepherique du Faron, the cable car ride up to Mount Faron. One of Toulon’s main attractions, the red cable car is an iconic site in Toulon, which the view at the top of the 584-metre hill is a breathtaking landscape of the Mediterranean Sea. At the top of the mountain, you are close to both the zoo and the Notre-Dame-du-Faron chapel, which are also worth a visit if you have the time. Another important part of the city is the harbour, as Toulon is a port city and therefore has a significant harbour, surrounded by incredible restaurants and cafes which are a great place to get a bite to eat.

Explore the history of the area in the Musee Memorial du Debarquement, a WW2 fortress on Mount Faron where you can see a collection of period objects and replicas or visit the Musee National de la Marina to learn more about the role of Toulon and France’s navy through the centuries.

For a more traditional French time, visit the Cours Lafayette for their famous outdoor market, which is on most days of the week, where you will find not only food but flowers, local products, clothes, and some small home furnishings. Finally, finish off your trip with a visit to the beach, with the nearby Plages du Mourillion being a set of four beautiful beaches with fun activities such as crazy golf or play areas for the kids, as well as some great seaside restaurants to enjoy and relax.
