Everything went smoothly, Matt was very responsive to any questions and the boat was in great condition
We had an afternoon charter for my daughter’s 21st. Matt was great at communicating & organising drinks etc for the day prior to us arriving. Everything was very well organised with crew offering us watermelon , pineapple & fresh fruit platter through the day. Thoroughly relaxing time. Boat was fantastic. Would definitely do again

How much does it cost to hire a boat in Thailand?
The cost of renting a boat in Thailand depends on the time of the year and on the island you are renting. When most tourists visit the country the prices are higher especially on the most visited islands. As an example, if you wish to hire a yacht in Phuket, expect to pay around 200 €/day for a sailboat in Thailand and around 400 €/day for a catamaran. These prices of course can differ on other islands.
However, if your plan in Thailand includes renting a motor boat for a day, prices vary based on the type and size of the boat. There is a wide range of boats available for you to choose from based on the activities you’d like to do. We recommend planning and getting prepared to know what is the most suitable boat for you.
Thailand has a tropical climate, so when you plan your holiday there it is best to avoid the rainy season. There is a 6months long monsoon season from May to October with lots of rain. Therefore, we highly advise you to visit Thailand between November and April in the dry season. In this period, the temperature is high, it’s sunny and also there are excellent conditions on the water for sailing.
Keep in mind that there are some very popular islands such as Phuket where there is high demand for boat hire, so better to book your boat in advance. If you plan to hire a yacht we recommend booking a few months in advance, if it’s only for a day it is enough to book a few weeks before your holiday.
If you are renting a boat in Thailand, there are a few things that you should be careful about. In general, if you have a boating license issued by your country it is accepted in Thailand. Bear in mind that it still needs to be adapted to the size of the boat you rent. However, if you hire a bareboat in Thailand, you must have a Thai boating license, passport, visa, medical certificate and any other document that can prove your previous sailing experiences.
If you don’t have the required documents or just don’t want to stress during the holiday it is better to hire a boat with a skipper. You can relax and leave the stress behind your back and also the skipper is a local who knows everything about the region. The added benefit of the skipper can make your holiday a wonderful experience full of memories and adventures.
