We chartered a monohull for a family holiday and the entire Sailfleet team were fantastic. The staff were highly professional and knowledgeable, while also being flexible when we had some delays on our return. The boat was also very well maintained and made for a great holiday! Iain
Had a very good experience, with love sail, our 7th year of chartering and first in Turkey with love sail. Found them friendly & accommodating. We were able to pay for early check in & boat was as described. Yacht classic hotel as a base is great with very nice facilities before & after charter. Check out was thorough but we had no problems with the boat. Overall can’t fault the service. Thank you
Fethiye is a stunning city on the southwest coast of Turkey, which is a popular tourist destination due to its natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant city culture. The port city is a popular area among tourists as it offers entertainment to every type of traveller, from adventure tours such as jeep safaris to beaches to relax on, to ancient rock tombs to explore for the history buff.
Hiring a sailboat in Fethiye costs on average £250-£300 a day, while motorboats are of much lower availability and will cost more than £450 a day. For a weeklong charter, a sailboat in Fethiye averages £5000 for the week. However, these prices are not fixed and are subject to change due to several factors including the type of boat and time of year.
Fethiye follows Turkish law which states that every skipper must have an approved skipper license in order to charter a boat in Turkey and should also have previous experience on boats of a similar size. If you plan on sailing on a motored yacht, your skipper must have at least 2 years of experience on top of their sailing license.
Fethiye is known for its stunning coastline, being situated between the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, being filled with bays, coves and beaches which make it a popular spot for water sports. This is also one of the reasons Fethiye is such a popular tourist destination for sailors and lovers of the nautical world. The beaches are some of the best in the world, with Oludeniz being a short way from Fethiye, and being a very famous beach, with the Blue Lagoon being situated in the area as well.
With the rich history of Fethiye, one of the city’s most famous attractions is the rock tombs carved into the cliffs overlooking the town which offer a glance at ancient Lycian culture. Further knowledge of the town can be learned at the Fethiye Museum, which hosts a number of artefacts and knowledge of the Lycian ear.
Similar to other Turkish coastal cities, Fethiye is filled with shopping and dining where you can pick up souvenirs, or some of the popular bold spices which make Turkish cuisine so unique and delicious, with Gocek boasting some incredible Turkish cuisine, including seafood which is popular due to the local fishing villages.
Gocek is also a great boating destination due to its location, as it is located close to several islands, cities and villages which can make excellent day trips, including Gocek, Kas and Kekova, which each offer their own unique culture. The nearby Oludeniz is one of the most popular day trips as mentioned above, being sheltered by a lagoon and nearby the nature reserve of Butterfly valley.
