We made a short trip by sea to see dolphins but they were not there, it is the law of nature. Then, the major part in the Ria which offers a multitude of places to stop. Armando does his best to satisfy our desires.

How much does it cost to hire a boat in Faro? 

The cost of yacht hire in Faro fluctuates according to the season. The highest prices are in the high season during summer from June to August, when there are the most tourists. 

However, thanks to the excellent climate, the sailing season in Faro runs from April until the end of October. If you plan to hire a yacht in Faro, expect to pay around 140€/day for a sailboat and around 500€/day for a catamaran. We recommend booking a few months in advance to guarantee to find the perfect boat for your holiday. 

There is a much wider price range for motor boats, which will depend on the size and type of boat you rent. If you prefer to hire a motor boat for a day, define your project and the activities you would like to do during your trip and choose accordingly. 

Do I need a license to hire a yacht in Faro? 

If you hire a boat in Faro, Portugal you will need to have a valid boating license regardless of the type of boat you rent. You will be asked to present your license if you hire a sailboat or a motorboat too. If your license is issued by any EU Member State, it will automatically be accepted. 

However, don’t worry if you don’t have the necessary documents, you can hire a boat with a skipper! The skipper will allow you to sail to Lisbon or stay local and enjoy the scenery.
